The program listed all of the wines being sampled, making it easy to follow along and provided an opportunity to write notes and feedback on the wines being sampled. Upon admission, attendants were given a six wine bottle tote, a Connecticut Wine Festival tasting glass, and a pro-gram of events and featured wines. Photos by Sarah Muska D espite the hot and humid Summer heat, 5,500 dedicated wine lovers gathered for the eighth annual Connecticut Wine Festival in pictur-esque Goshen, CT on July 23 and 24. The festival was sponsored by: Sharpe Hill Vineyard: Barry Ferris of Taylor Brooke Winery. This year’s participating wineries were: Bishop’s Orchards Winery, DiGrazia Vineyards, Holmberg Orchards & Winery, Hopkins Vineyard, Jonathan Edwards Winery, Jones Family Farm, Miranda Vineyards, Paradise Hills Vineyard and Winery, Priam Vineyards, Savino Vineyards, Sharpe Hill Vineyards, Sunset Meadow Vineyards, Taylor Brooke Winery, and Sharpe Hill's David Vollweiler. Planning has already begun for next year’s event. It was a great opportunity to get a taste of several vineyards in one great loca-tion. Also, on Sunday, many participated in the annual grape stomp! This year was another successful year for the Connecticut Wine Festival. Sunday’s seminar was given by Laureen Guerriero, WineTimeCT’s Chief Grape Officer. On Saturday, Renee Allen, wine edu-cator and owner of The Wine Institute of New England offered a free seminar featuring CT wines. Live music was also performed for entertain-ment throughout the weekend. Adams Hometown Market, one of the event’s sponsors, had prepared cheese plates and sushi for purchase. Several food vendors were available offering quite a variety for a quick bite. The provided wine tote came in handy for easy packaging. ) Glasses of wine were available to pur-chase and enjoy while you walked the grounds, as well as bottles for sale to take home.
